I3U at the 22ème Congrès des Économistes: Les enjeux de l’innovation

The 22nd Congress of Economists, held at ULB on November 30, 2017 discussed “The challenges of innovation: What policies? What kind of governance?

A number of points regarding innovation and policy were discussed, and Anabela Santos of ULB presented a paper about I3U’s results in her presentation on “New European financial instruments of innovation and financing constraints of firms“.

Some upcoming conferences and events where information about the project could be disseminated are:

Preliminary results of Commitments 24-28 published in the wiiw Monthly Report

A special issue of the wiiw Monthly Report has been released, with short contributions by Sandor Richter (wiiw), Berenike Ecker ZSI), Marta Mackiewicz (WERI) and Hermine Vidovic (wiiw) on the implementation and impact assessment of 4 commitments, specifically:

  • How to Use EU Funds Earmarked for Fostering Cohesion more
    Efficiently?
  • Social Innovation and the EU Policy Initiatives;
  • The Effects of EU Research Projects in the Field of Social
    Innovation;
  • The Knowledge Economy and the Labour Market: the Role of
    Social Partners.

I3U Project and Review Meeting held in Paris

The fourth Project and Review Meeting for the I3U project was held in Paris on May 22-24. The meeting offered an opportunity for the partners to present the results achieved so far and to discuss upcoming activities and deliverables. Additional reports on the project’s results will be available in July.

I3U Newsletter 2 – May 2017

I3U – Investigating the Impact of the Innovation Union has just released their second newsletter. The newsletter discusses upcoming publications and conferences, as well as the progress of the project so far. It offers a detailed assessment of progress on a number of innovation-related issues, such as EU research and innovation programmes, open access and knowledge transfer, and Smart Specialisation Strategies.
